The devastating floods triggered by incessant rains in Assam have left the state reeling under a humanitarian crisis. According to reports, 75 people have lost their lives, while lakhs of residents across seven districts have been displaced. Thousands of families are struggling without access to basic necessities such as food, drinking water, medicines, and shelter.
Moved by the plight of the flood-affected people, the Nandamuri Basava Tarakam NTR Charitable Trust has initiated a large-scale relief drive and appealed to fans and the general public to come forward and support the victims.
The Trust is collecting essential relief materials including clothes, blankets, footwear, dry food, rice, drinking water, sanitary kits, and other daily necessities to be sent to the affected families in Assam.
The relief collection drive was flagged off at the NTR Statue, JNTU, KPHB, Hyderabad, in the presence of chief guests Nandamuri Mohana Roopa, Tummala Prasanna Kumar, and NBK Fan Anantapur Jagan.
Several members of Balayya Yuva Sena actively participated in the initiative, including Atluri Deepak, Sattar, Cherukuri Ravi, Marni Pawan, Potluri Ramakrishna, Potluri Rajesh, Vinay Chava, Komma Vikram, Karnati Kondal Rao, Madan Mohan, Gopi Krishna Kakarla, Srinivas Kolluri, Harendra Babu, Manideep, Gautham, Sai, and many other volunteers, who joined hands to collect relief materials.
The initiative has received an overwhelming response from the public, with contributions pouring in and calls being received from people across different regions expressing their willingness to support the cause.
Speaking on the occasion, Nandamuri Mohana Roopa expressed happiness over the remarkable response and appreciated everyone who came forward to support the noble initiative. She urged people to continue extending their support through the Nandamuri Basava Tarakam NTR Charitable Trust, emphasizing that every contribution, big or small, will help bring relief and hope to the flood-affected families in Assam.
The Trust reiterated its commitment to humanitarian service and appealed to citizens to stand united in supporting the people of Assam during this difficult time.
