A new book chronicling the untold stories and experiences of the global Save Soil movement was officially launched today in Hyderabad. Titled “Save Soil: 100 Days That Moved The World,” the book is compiled by Bharatanatyam dancer Radhe Jaggi and reflects on the massive environmental campaign initiated by her father, Sadhguru.
Inside the Book
The book captures the essence of Sadhguru’s monumental 2022 journey to raise awareness about soil extinction. It details his 100-day, 30,000-kilometer motorcycle ride across 27 countries. Through volunteer narratives, behind-the-scenes experiences, and photographs, the compilation showcases the scale, enthusiasm, and challenges of the global movement.
Event Highlights & Key Voices
The launch event, held in Kondapur, brought together people from various walks of life who share a concern for the planet’s future. It featured interactive segments, live music, and engaging discussions about culture and personal responsibility in environmental conservation.
- Radhe Jaggi: Having actively participated in the movement by performing with ‘Project Samskriti’ to spread the message, she highlighted the need for systemic support. “Farmers are already fighting for their livelihoods; it is unfair to place the entire environmental burden on them,” she stated. She emphasized the need to naturally increase soil organic matter, support farmers, and implement strict government policies to make soil conservation a reality.
- Ram Miriyala: The singer and music director performed a self-composed song illustrating the deep bond between humans and soil, describing soil as “living gold” and stressing the urgent need to protect it.
- Shilpa Reddy: The wellness entrepreneur shared her personal inspiration, stating, “I am but a drop in the ocean. The vastness and intensity of this movement deeply inspired me, prompting me to dedicate a song and contribute to this cause.”
