About 3 thousand priests have applied for the post of chief priest. But, some conditions are also placed in the acceptance of applications. Applicant’s age should be between 20 to 30 years. It is stipulated that they should have studied Gurukula education and should be eligible for Sri Ram’s initiation.
Applications were filtered and 200 people were invited for interviews. Among them, 22-year-old Mohit Pandey from Ghazia Bad, Uttar Pradesh also came for the interview.

Out of 200 interviewees, 21 were finally selected as priests. In addition to the post of one chief priest, 20 assistant priests were selected.

He also impressed the panel members. Satyendra Das, the present priest of the temple, was pardoned. Mohit started reciting Vedas like Ramayana and Mahabharata at the age of ten. He completed his tenth standard education from Dudeshwar Ved Vidya Peeth, Ghaziabad in the academic year 2020-2021.

While Satyendra Das continues as the head priest of the temple, Mohit Pandey will not take over as the head priest of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir after training. It is reported that he will take up the duties of the chief priest in March.
